Making a Planned Gift involes the careful consideration of all of your giving options and the selection of the gift strategy that makes the most sense for you and your family.
What is a Planned Gift?
A Planned Gift is a donation made from your accumulated assets which allows you to realize your philanthropic objectives while maximizing financial and tax benefits.
What are the benefits of making a Planned Gift?
– No matter what your income level, you can support MTC with a significant gift, and still take care of your loved ones’ needs.
– A charitable tax credit can reduce the payment of your final income taxes.
– Additional tax benefits may be available to you when you donate shares, establish MTC as the irrevocable owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy, or when you establish a charitable annuity.
Why should I tell MTC of my intentions?
Each year MTC receives bequest gifts from friends who did not tell us they were remembering us in their estate plans. It would have been a joy to thank them during their lifetime. By sharing your intentions with MTC you will enjoy the benefits of membership in the Founders’ Circle and, at the same time, help MTC to plan for the future.
What is the Founders’ Circle?
The Founders’ Circle allows MTC to recognize individuals who have informed us about their planned gift. Donors who inform the theatre that they have included MTC in their will or who have established a life insurance policy, charitable remainder trust, charitable gift annuity, or other planned gifts are invited to become members of the Founders’ Circle, named in honour of our visionary co-founders, John Hirsch and Tom Hendry.
Members are given a Founders’ Circle pin, a subscription to the MTC donor newsletter, are recognized as a member of The Founders’ Circle in Ovation and in MTC’s Annual Report and are invited to annual donor events. All requests for anonymity are strictly honoured.
